Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
