Sonali was just four years old when the earthquake struck. She was playing outside her home in the village of Sindhupalchok when the ground began to shake violently. Sonali was miraculously uninjured, but she was alone and afraid. She wandered around for days, searching for her family. She was finally rescued by a group of aid workers who took her to a hospital in Kathmandu.

At the hospital, Sonali was treated for her injuries and given food and water. She was also given a new name, "Hope," by the hospital staff.

While Sonali was recovering in the hospital, she met an American couple named David and Amy. David and Amy had come to Nepal to volunteer their help in the aftermath of the earthquake. They were immediately drawn to Sonali and her story, and they decided to adopt her.

In June 2015, Sonali traveled to the United States with David and Amy. She was finally reunited with her family, who had survived the earthquake but had been separated from her in the chaos. Sonali's parents were overjoyed to see her again, and they were grateful to David and Amy for taking care of her.

Sonali's story is a testament to the indomitable spirit that resides within us all. Despite experiencing unimaginable tragedy, she never gave up hope. She persevered through the darkness and found a new family who loves and cares for her.

Sonali's story is also a reminder of the importance of family. In the aftermath of a disaster, it is the bonds of family that help us to heal and rebuild our lives.
